There are many scams in Internet dating, mainly they are when someone asks for money. If anyone asks you for money after talking to you online get out fast. DO NOT GIVE MONEY to anyone you do not know, no matter what they tell you or what their story is.
Recently there was a Russian bride scam where a San Bernardino County man was sentenced to five years in federal prison yesterday for cheating men out of more than $1 million. More than 250 men where defrauded for over $740,000. These men mistakenly sent over $1000 to help the Russian women get to the US to finance her visit. Most scams are run by men on men. These men know exactly what lonely guys want to hear and are skilled in manipulation. Sadly sometimes the scam is being run by the site owner themselves. Personally I was totally scammed on a site called fetishliason.com On this site there are “profilebots” this is a term I have coined to describe these unreal profiles that occur on many sites. I had a completely empty tester profile posted on fetishliason.com No photo, no blurb nothing, empty. All there was on that profile was a city location, handle and age. I left it for a month and after one month I had over 40 emails from women telling me that loved my pic!!!! All these women contacted me when I was a non paying member, as soon as I pad and replied there was never ONE RESPONSE! I contacted Madam X (the site administrator) telling her the situation to get no response. Do not join this site! Its a scam! There many other scams. They will be added soon.
